Take a stand
One widely talked-about initiative that paved the way for others was Procter & Gamble’s bold effort to boost the confidence of adolescent girls – by taking a stand. This was actually a mission they had embraced for a long time, but one that had gone unnoticed by many young people. Always had previously focused on the idea that confidence would come from the feature of the product.
With this new initiative, they aimed to approach the issue in a more emotional and meaningful way. They tried to redefine the expression “like a girl” from something condescending to something to be proud of. Through a social experiment where young people were asked to perform various physical actions “like a girl,” they created a film that not only resonated deeply with the target audience, but also touched men and women of all ages, and encouraged change.
